If you don't know who Mikey Welsh is, he is the former Bassist for Weezer. It saddens me to hear this news, seeing as I am a huge Weezer fan and all, but I know it saddens all of the other fellow Weezer fans as well.
Welsh played with Weezer from the time that they regrouped in 2000 until August 2001, when he suffered a mental breakdown. Shortly afterwards, he retired from music to focus on his art career. He was found dead in Chicago on August 8th, 2011. Weird thing is, he predicted his own death...kinda weird, eh?
Mikey Welsh was 40 years old.
Today I ask all of you Weezer fans to play the music he took part in as loud as you can. R.I.P. Mikey, we'll miss you!
